London, 5 November 2025, Green Century Funds, a US asset manager well known for its leadership on responsible investment, has become the latest member of the BBFAW Global Investor Collaboration on Farm Animal Welfare. As a signatory to the Collaboration, Green Century will participate in an annual engagement to improve animal welfare management practices amongst BBFAW’s 150 global companies.
The Investor Collaboration is now supported by 30 institutional investors (1) representing £2.7 trillion in assets under management.
Leslie Samuelrich, President, Green Century commented: "Improving standards of farm animal welfare in the food production system is not just the right thing to do, it’s an increasingly important investment risk to manage. Poor standards pose significant regulatory, reputational and operational risks to food companies and the global food supply chain. We’re delighted to join BBFAW which is both a valuable guide in helping investors analyse management quality on animal welfare in a systematic and consistent manner, and a driver of positive impact in this area.”
Nicky Amos, Executive Director of the BBFAW said: “It’s very welcome news that Green Century is backing the Global Investor Collaboration on Farm Animal Welfare. Green Century is well-known as a leader in sustainable investment and its presence further strengthens the ability of the investor collaboration to improve corporate governance, management systems and performance on farm animal welfare at some of the world’s largest food companies.”
