The in-person launch of the 2025 Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare (BBFAW), hosted by BNP Paribas Asset Management, was held in Paris on Tuesday, 5th May 2026.
The event marked the release of the 2025 BBFAW Report, offering an evidence-based assessment of how 149 global food companies address the business risks and opportunities presented by animal welfare. It also explored animal welfare as a critical component in delivering improved outcomes for human, animal, and environmental health.
The theme for this year’s launch event was 'Investing in One Health: The Case for Animal Welfare’.
The programme brought together investors and companies to explore the role of the BBFAW in driving coordinated action, accelerating progress and identifying practical pathways for collaboration. The agenda featured perspectives from Carrefour, BNP Paribas Asset Management and Candriam, along with the BBFAW Partners, CiWF and FOUR PAWS.
Through discussions at the event and subsequently with companies and investors, we gathered insights on current farm animal welfare practices, the drivers and barriers to progress, and the links between animal welfare and wider sustainability issues.
